MCCAC’s Shelters
-
The Gloria Center Shelter is located at 2505 W. 7th Street in The Dalles directly behind the coordinated social services center where MCCAC’s main offices are located.
This shelter consists of 36 beds and is only operationalized on a temporary basis for the duration of severe weather or hazardous air quality events.
Unfortunately, children cannot stay at this shelter due to the nature of the Gloria Center shelter units.
-
MCCAC’s most robust transitional housing and shelter program is “The Annex,” located at 200 W. 2nd Street in The Dalles, Oregon.
The Annex consists of 76 beds. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Adults and children who are houseless are eligible to stay in The Annex if they meet housing status requirements determined at time of intake and if they are willing and able to follow basic community agreements related to behavior and safety.
Households typically do not stay at The Annex for longer than 6 months; upon placement in an Annex unit, households are paired with MCCAC Housing Stabilization Specialists, who help them develop personalized housing stabilization plans and enroll in financial assistance programs designed to help them get back into permanent housing as quickly as possible—then stabilize there long-term.
-
In 2023, MCCAC merged with Hood River Shelter Services and became the sole operator of the Hood River Shelter, located at 1733 Oak Street in Hood River, Oregon.
The Hood River Shelter operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a wcek from November-March of each year. It consists of 24 beds.
Unfortunately the Hood River Shelter cannot accomodate children under the age of 18.
