Summary:
The Accounting Specialist provides support to the Accounting Manager, processing financial information and completing administrative tasks. This role is an on-site coordinator for the Accounting Department. The position must maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Record and scan receipts, checks, and deposits into appropriate systems; record expenses, noting all necessary identifying information and attaching proof of purchase as required.
Make physical deposits at the bank as needed.
Assist Accounting Manager with creating invoices in Bill.com and monitoring the platform.
Maintain accuracy in all financial data recording and tasks to ensure the integrity of financial systems, transactions, records, and reports.
Work directly with the Grants and Contracts Administrator to track expenses and apply to appropriate grant codes.
Work with Operations Manager to maintain timely payment of utility and operational bills.
Complete administrative tasks with accuracy and in a timely manner.
Maintain discretion and confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
Education & Experience:
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping required
Non-profit accounting experience or project-based accounting experience preferred

Excellent communication skills when working with vendors, customers, and other staff
Salary and Benefits Information
Hourly DOE $20.00-24.00

Position Details:
The position may require some overnight and out of area travel for training opportunities.
This position is rated as active with frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting, regularly requires the individual to lift 30 pounds.
